What Is a MagicBand?
A MagicBand is a wearable device that links to your My Disney Experience account. It’s available in two versions:
✨ MagicBand+ (Current Model)
- Interactive features with haptics, lights, and vibrations.
- Responds to nighttime shows like Happily Ever After.
- Interacts with golden character statues.
- Rechargeable via included USB charger.
🎟️ Classic MagicBand
- Basic RFID features only (still supported).
- Cannot interact with statues or light up.
- No longer sold by Disney but still works if linked.
- Battery is not rechargeable.
What Can a MagicBand Do?
Park & Hotel Access
Tap to enter theme parks, unlock your Disney Resort hotel room door, and access pool gates.
Lightning Lane Entry
Tap at Lightning Lane entrances to redeem your pre-booked ride reservations seamlessly.
Room Charging
Charge food and merchandise purchases directly to your Disney Resort hotel room (optional).
PhotoPass Linking
Automatically link all your on-ride photos and pictures taken by PhotoPass photographers to your account.
How to Get One
Staying at a Disney Resort?
You can pre-order a MagicBand+ at a discount through your My Disney Experience account. It can be shipped to your home (U.S. only) before your trip or picked up at your hotel's front desk.
Not Staying On-Site?
You can purchase MagicBand+ at most gift shops within the theme parks and at Disney Springs, or online at shopDisney. Once purchased, you can link it to your account in the app.
Pairing & Setup
- Open the My Disney Experience app on your smartphone.
- Navigate to the menu and select "MagicBands and More."
- Tap "Link a MagicBand or Card" and follow the on-screen prompts.
- Assign the band to a specific person in your travel party to activate its features.
